Inflatables is an ongoing photographic series of portraits of covered vehicles in different parts of the world. Under cover, the cars’ make and status symbols are equalised even as their distinct characters remain on display. Deprived of their functional mobility, these objects assert their mysterious presence in the public space. Their enveloping textiles are like skins that transmute their forms and subtly interact with the environment. They breathe, as if inhabited by a soul, the anima, inviting viewers to imagine phantasmagorical projections and observe movement in stillness.
